Bhanu Choudhrie

Bhanu Choudhrie has been appointed to the main board of the next Commonwealth Games due to take place in Glasgow in the summer of 2014. Regarded as one of Britain’s leading entrepreneurs, Bhanu founded C&C Alpha Group in 2002. He is a trustee of the Indo-British charity Path to Success. He is also a director of Customers Bank and Atlantic Coast Bank, a US banking group. He becomes the first person of Asian origin to sit on the board of the Commonwealth Games.

Arcelormittal Orbit

The ArcelorMittal Orbit is a 115-metre-high tower that dominates the Olympic Park in Stratford, London. ArcelorMittal has won the ‘Changing the Face of Britain Award’ at the prestigious Asian Voice Public and Political Life Awards (People’s Awards). The Orbit, which was visited by Queen Elizabeth II during the Olympics, is the largest piece of public art in Britain. The inspiration behind the Orbit, Laskhmi Mittal, has been similarly honoured.

Navin Kundra

Silver Star’s latest Ambassador has been named as Navin Kundra. He is a multi talented singer, songwriter and composer of Asian, Hindi and English music. Since winning the show “Se Re Ga Ma” World Series of Zee TV, Navin has captured the hearts of many of his listeners with of his mix of music from contemporary to urban desi. Navin has welcomed the opportunity to become Silver Star Ambassador to raise awareness of diabtes. He said “I am delighted to support Silver Star. I know so many who suffer from this awful condition.”

Dorothy Meets Filbert Fox

A star is born! The Silver Star mascot has recently been unveiled as Dorothy, a six-foot tall duck. The ceremony
took place at Leicester City Football Club’s King Power Stadium where Dorothy attended the match with Barnsley
on the 8th December. Dorothy’s debut took place on the middle of the pitch during half-time, where it was announced that LCFC had adopted Silver Star as one of the club’s charities for 2013.
